Beyond Dreams is one of the largest content creation companies in India. The company has produced over 25 top rated Indian television series (over 10,000 episodes) and won over 35 awards and 135 nominations at various national and international award ceremonies.Beyond Dreams was formed by Yash A Patnaik and Mamta Yash Patnaik in 2007. One of the company’s first forays into the entertainment marketplace was the long-running drama “Ek Veer Ki Ardaas Veera” which remained a slot leader across all Indian channels for over 800 episodes. Veera went on winning awards at all prestigious awards ceremonies. In 2007, the company produced its first weekend fiction series Babbanbhai Vs Bimlatai for 9X channel. This was followed by Combala Investigation Agency (CIA) on Cartoon Network's Pogo, Chehra on Star Plus, Rang Badalti Odhni on Star One, Jamunia on Imagine TV, Junoon on Life OK, Main Na Bhulungi for Sony. Beyond Dreams produced an experimental day horror feature film Kaalo in 2010, which won many national and international awards including 'Best Film' at the prestigious SA Horrorfest, Cape Town.
Based on a folktale, the story of Kaalo revolves around a desert witch of the same name. Kaalo was a witch who lived in Kulbhata during the 18th century. She was killed and buried by angry villagers for sacrificing young nubile girls to satisfy her greed for immortality, but her fear lived on. Year's later villagers spoke of Kaalo's sightings yet again.
